How cool is this: Earlier this year, Lane Berning & Rylee Yockey (Anthon 3rd graders) wrote friendly letters to the Iowa Hawkeyes. This week, each of them received a response and a free poster in the mail. What an awesome experience!

The Anthon 4th and 5th grades presented at the First Quarter Reading Celebration on Tuesday. They shared a choral reading of "There was an old man who swallowed a bat!"

The Executive Student Council attended the State Leadership Conference in DesMoines. They participated in several breakout sessions, but the big news was that Claire Weber was named 2nd Vice President-Elect for Student Council across all classes in Iowa. Congratulations, Claire!
Congratulations to Brayden Doty and Emily Kovarna on their selection to the 75th Annual All-State Music Festival. Nine MVAOCOU students traveled to Atlantic on Saturday, October 23rd to audition among hundreds of high school musicians for the prestigious honor. Brayden was selected to the All-State Chorus as a Bass 2 voice part. Emily was selected to the All-State Orchestra on bassoon. The 75th Annual All-State Music Festival will be held November 18-20 in Ames culminating with festival concert in Hilton Coliseum on Saturday, November 20th at 7:30 pm. Congratulations!

Last night was the district cross country meet in Orange City. Several Rams had big goals of making it to the state meet, but fell short of their goal. It was the last meet for these three seniors. Our Ram runners had a great year and should be very proud of themselves!

Today's theme for Healthy Choices Week was "United Against Bullies" and students in both elementaries wore orange to show their unity. They also participated in a schoolwide unity project and discussed kindness in the classroom.
