This past week members of the FFA chapter attended the state leadership conference in Des Moines. The farm management team of Camric Hamman, Hannah O’Connell, Ashley Rosener, and Thomas Sorensen placed 8th overall. Congrats!!

Update from the track team's performance at the Sioux City Relays: Will Forbes got 2nd in the high jump, the 4 X 100 had a new PR, and Emily Trucke had a PR in the long jump. Great work, Rams!

Mr. Dougherty's 6th grade English class has been reading about Jackie Robinson. Today is Jackie Robinson Day in the MLB. Every player wears 42, and a group of students wrote 42 on their hands on their own this morning before school. It's cool to see students excited about what they're reading!

Ms. Hermsen’s Biology class did a lab to compare thermal energy in three different foods. They burned puff corn, marshmallows, and peanuts to see how much the temperature of the water increased.

Parents of preschool aged children, Paula Nagle with Head Start will be at the Fisher Whiting Memorial Library in Mapleton tomorrow, April 15, 2021 taking applications for next school year.


This week, the students on the Costa Rica trip have been Kayaking at the Arenal Lake and visiting waterfalls. They are learning lots and having a great time.

Yesterday our NHS members started volunteering to work as Crossing Guards for the Elementary. Two members volunteer each school day to help elementary students safely cross the street. Calliyah Mareau and Rachel Shupe helped yesterday.

On Friday the Foods I students worked on their stir fry unit. This looks like a spectacular meal!



Saturday was a windy day for MVAOCOU's first trap shooting competition of the season in Schaller!




The Spanish students are visiting the Irazu Volcano today.



Dawson Hamman is the Rams' first 20 mph sprinter of the year. Way to go, Dawson!
