The Cross Country teams performed well at their home meet last night. Kael Hamann (6th), Hannah O'Connell (3rd) & Justin Dorale (12th) all medaled. The boys placed 3rd and the girls placed 6th as a team. Great job, Rams!
Miss. Hermsen's Biology students are studying muscle fatigue by using a rubber band to create tension between their fingers and counting how many reps they can get in a minute.
Learning fueled by fresh air! The students in the elementary are out enjoying this beautiful fall day before heading back in to work on their reading, writing, and arithmetic.
This week, the students in Mr. Miller's Consumer Auto course are learning all about engines. In the first photo, Dylynne is installing the camshaft and cylinder head to the motor they disassembled the week before. The students disassembled several engines to learn how the motor works and how to use some basic tools for working on vehicles.
In the second photo, Mr. Miller is discussing with Matteo and Brayden the functions of some of the parts of the engine.
This week, Mrs. Scholl's Hospitality & Tourism class worked on dessert plating techniques. Looks delicious, girls!
The Rams Cross Country Team had a big night last night at Tri Center-Neola. Kael Hamann (6th), Ethan Reed (15th) and Hannah O'Connell (12th) medaled at the Varsity level and Joey Koithan (9th) medaled at the Junior High level. Additionally, all Ram runners achieved their Personal Records (PRs)! Hard work is definitely paying off for these student-athletes.
Additionally, this morning, the Beef N Brew hosted a pre-meet breakfast for the Rams in preparation for their home meet tomorrow night. Thank you!

The 2nd graders in the Anthon center are learning about Johnny Appleseed. Yesterday they went apple picking and then journaled about what they would make with their apples.

Today Miss. Hermsen's Anatomy students are using microscopes to see the tissues that make up the human body.
Health class on Friday had a healthy snack, apples from the FFA’s trees, and went for a walk around the track.

Congratulations to the JVR volleyball team for their 2nd place finish Saturday in the Monarch tournament!!! They placed first in the Gold pool by defeating Underwood, Harlan and Carroll. The also defeated Denison in the semi-final match. Way to go RAMS!
MVAOCOU FFA is doing a Feed the Farmer event. Meals will be made for farmers who have signed up and delivered on October 11th. The meal includes pulled pork, chips, baked good, apple, and drink. Fill out this google form to get signed up!

The Ram Cheerleaders and Band put on another spectacular pep rally today in the gym during mentor time. They even played a little trick on their favorite principal!
The US Marines frequently visit the high school to recruit kids during lunch. Students who perform pull ups typically are given prizes like lanyards, water bottles, pencils, etc. Yesterday, some teachers got in on the fun. Mr. Gill and Mr. Brown tied with 23 pull ups each!
Yesterday, kindergarteners learned about force and motion by using different amounts of force to push a tennis ball to the other side of the room to cross the goal line.
Mr. Kahl's 2nd Grade students were introduced to simple circuits by using Makey Makey and an everyday object, Play-Doh, to control their computers and play an online piano.
