Maple Valley-Anthon Oto Community School is pleased to welcome Jennifer Kinsey as our new PK-5 principal at Mapleton Elementary! Mrs. Kinsey has served as the GearUp Coordinator and in various district and building leadership roles in the Denison-Schleswig Community School District since 2005. In her most recent role as High School Student Services Director, she provided academic support to students and classroom support for teachers. Prior to that, she taught math and science in the Dension-Schleswig, Marcus-Meridan Cleghorn, and LeMars Community Schools.
Mrs. Kinsey earned her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa, her master's degree from Briar Cliff, and her specialist's degree from the University of South Dakota. Mrs. Kinsey’s husband is the golf course superintendent at Majestic Hills in Denison. Her daughter teaches 3rd grade at Denison Elementary and her son is finishing up his last term at Palmer Chiropractic in Davenport. She loves to play with her grandson in her spare time and enjoys playing an occasional round of golf. Mrs. Kinsey is most excited about working with the staff and students at MVAO and getting to know the families and community.
