MVAOCOU High School Winter Semi-formal

On Saturday, February 26th, the MVAOCOU High School class officers hosted the Winter Semi-Formal. The class officers who were voted on by their peers at the beginning of the school year spent months preparing for this event. Over 150 students attended the dance where they were provided a variety of appetizers, a DJ, and a wide-open dance floor!

To get ready for this event, the class officers met weekly to talk about decorations, food, music, advertising, attire, times, tickets, and more! Tickets went on sale at the end of January and were sold for $15 up until February 18th. Any tickets sold after this date were sold for $20. The money was used to cover the cost of the DJ, decorations, and food for the dance. The officers stayed after school the day before the dance and decorated as much as possible. They also came in to finish decorating on Saturday afternoon. They hung streamers down the hallway, set up tables with centerpieces, created a balloon arch photo booth, and prepared the food table.

Immediately after the doors opened at 7:15 p.m., students flooded in, and most went straight to the dance floor. Others took advantage of the buffet of yummy food, and some went directly to the balloon arch to take pictures with their friends! Every student who bought a ticket was at the dance, and there were even a few more sold at the door. Up until the closing time of 11 p.m., students were on the floor dancing and singing the night away! It was a great night overall, and we can’t wait until next year!
